Our commitment to you
At HomieSapien we aim to provide an accessible website for all our homies, including those who are older and who have disabilities. Our website is upholds accessible standards of the Digital Accessibility Centre, conforming to level AA of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.2).
WCAG 2.2 provides criteria to make websites more accessible for people with disabilities. We take our responsibilities in this area very seriously and maintain continued efforts to improve accessibility on HomieSapien.com. If you have any questions or feedback, please contact us.
User testing
This site was tested and found to be accessible to people using keyboard-only control, screen reader access on desktop and mobile, screen magnification and high-contrast mode. It has been tested by a team of experienced web analysts with disabilities.
Video transcriptions and subtitles
Most of our videos provide close captioning (CC), however there may be a delay between a video being published on the site and the availability of its transcript and close captions while we create the transcript. If a video is not in English, there will be subtitles in English over the video but no transcript. Some of our videos do not have speech in them, so will never have a transcript.
Alt text for images
HomieSapien is working with generative AI tools to improve the quality of its alternative (alt) text provided for users of screen readers. Any AI generated alt text is always reviewed by an editor prior to publication to check accuracy. The intention is to improve the quality and richness of alt text on images of editorial significance. On images of a purely decorative nature, minimal or no alt text will be provided.
